I’ve talked about my body issues a lot in the past. My honesty about my experience and continued struggles has cost me relationships I’ve had my entire life but it was imperative to talk about.
We need more radical honesty when it comes to body issues because maybe we wouldn’t have so many issues in the future if we could all stop showing a highlight reel.
As a former cheerleader and dancer, I frequently ate late growing up. Dinner at 8/9 PM wasn’t uncommon for me. I was told that my eating habits were wrong by the media and I started stressing about dinner time.
If dinner wasn’t on the table by 6, I’ve failed my family. I failed my husband. I failed my kids. I failed my community. I failed myself.
I would find myself literally fighting with my husband about what time he got home because dinner would be impacted. We COULD NOT eat late. With my husband being an essential worker, dinner is rarely consistent. At least for my hubs and I.
It was ingrained in my head. A habit I couldn’t shake. I simply replaced some unhealthy eating habits with other obsessive eating habits.
Then, I found Joel Marion’s new book, Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion.
