We Have to Stop Calling Everything Racist

In 2019, I honestly cannot go more than a week without being called a racist. You would think it means I’m a racist, right? If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it must be a duck. Not entirely true here.

What if I said I was called a racist because I have a black labrador? Yes, the dog breed. That actually happened yesterday.

I am a racist for being a Republican.

I am a racist for being a Trump Supporter.

I am a racist for owning a gun.

I am a racist for having a paintball gun as part of my halloween costume and not seeing how that is white privilege.

I am a racist for not supporting Greta Thunberg.

I am a racist for not supporting illegal immigration.

I am a racist because I don’t ascribe to a victim narrative.

I am racist even though I voted for Obama twice but was disappointed by his presidency the second term.

I could make a list a mile long of all the things I’ve been called a racist for honestly.

I could make a list a mile long of all the things I’ve been called a racist for honestly.

The problem is that the “wokies” have decided that everything is racist. People used to say that it was the fringe or the loudest people on the outskirts that felt this way but it’s just regular people that belong to the dog Facebook groups or heck, my own mother. Why? Because I’m a Conservative and we’ve all been lumped together as a giant racist because the media decided the President was racist without evidence therefore all supporters must be too.

Everyone is a victim of racism these days. People have gone so far as to fabricate racist attacks so they can be part of this supposed resurgence of racism that the media has created and allowed the “wokies” to shout from the rooftops.

We all remember the immediate anger after Jussie Smollett had been “attacked” by “Trump Supporters” in MAGA hats. Smollett told the world they ambushed him, and they tied a noose around his neck all whilst racial and homophobic slurs were slung at him this past summer. Presidential hopefuls were tweeting rapidly about the injustices and the toxic culture created by the sitting president and how their America would be different. Until they revealed it that Smollett had paid two Nigerian men to attack him for the sake of publicity. He knew exactly what he was doing when he asked these two men to don a red baseball hat and attack him.

We also had the girl this past September in Virginia that told the world her dreadlocks were cut off by white classmates. It outraged the country as it was deemedto be racially motivated due to the slurs that were allegedly spoken at the time of the incident.

The other day, a former friend sent an article about how students had hung up racial signs above a water fountain in a Charleston school district. The person who sent me the article was black, and the conversation had been about how racism was alive and well in America and that was her reality. What she said to do was find the other 10+ articles that stated students of various racial backgrounds hung the signs. Not by just white kids.

Here’s the problem: if everything is racist, nothing is racist. If I’m a racist for having a black dog, then nothing is racist. If we’re fabricating stories of racism, the real issues don’t matter.

Racism is real. It happens. Trust me, I live in South Georgia and have been to every corner of the United States; I know racism is alive. To pretend that every republican is a racist, trivializes real racism.

What I’ve discovered is that it’s the go to for most people I know on the Left. A large majority of the time when someone disagrees with my viewpoint, they automatically decide I am a racist and therefore I am “cancelled.” I am no longer capable of intelligent thought and every accomplishment I have in my life holds any merit.

The more we use the word “racist” for things that are not racism, the more it loses its meaning.

Racism is defined as “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.”

The problem is also how the Left has taken over the definition of the word. If we look at the bottom of the definition as per Google’s definition, we’ll see the synonyms listed and one of those words is “illiberal” which means “opposed to liberal principles; restricting freedom of thought or behavior.”

As we can see, Google then classifies Conservatives in this category.

If we follow the chain here, we can see that the media and big tech is propagating this idea that Conservatives are by definition racist and that doesn’t solve the real issue.

If we are to eliminate the racism that exists in the open and hiding in the shadowy corners of this country because people are too ashamed to be open about their bigotry, then we need to work together as a country to denounce it and call it out.

We should not fabricate stories of racism to detract from the real issues. We should not call people who own black dogs racists simply because their dog’s fur is black. We should not classify an entire political ideology racist because all this does is further hinder the progress everyone wants.

Racism is Justin Trudeau and Joy Behar wearing black face. Racism is the neo-nazis in Charlottesville. Racism is publishing Kathy Zhu, a Chinese immigrant and a student at the University of Michigan, a white supremacist.

I can assure you no one wants to live in a racist society and if they do, they're racist.
